Franchisee case study

Find out more about becoming a Virtual Assistant Franchisee

Jayne O’Keefe wanted a business which could grow with her family.

After five successful years with Pink Spaghetti, Jayne has just signed a new contract to stay with us and we are so happy that our virtual assistant franchise offering is giving her the success, freedom and flexibility she was craving in her career.

Below, Jayne describes how she found Pink Spaghetti and what her experience of being a Pink Spaghetti franchisee has given her.

Back in the summer of 2016, Jayne was looking at her options for starting a business on her own: "I returned to my job from maternity leave and was not enjoying the role and I could see going forward that it wouldn’t offer me the flexibility I’d need when my son was to start school. It was my husband that came across Pink Spaghetti, I made an enquiry straight away and completed the application form. I went to meet the founders, Vicky and Caroline, and I felt really at ease with them and reassured that I could run my own business. I wanted to get started straight away….BUT a couple of weeks later I found out I was pregnant with my second child. I spoke to Vicky who was really supportive and was happy to keep my territory area so I could start my business 18 months later. Roll forward to January 2018 and I found myself at Winnington Hall, about to start my training. I met some other lovely franchisees and I instantly felt part of the pink family.

For me, starting Pink Spaghetti with a nine month old and a four year old, I was always going to need flexibility and the ability to build a business at my pace, which is what Pink Spaghetti offered. After my first three months, I had three regular clients who are still clients five years later. In the first three years before my daughter started school, I really wanted a business where I could work a few hours a week but still build my network in my area. Once my daughter started preschool I started working more hours and now I work with, on average, 14 different businesses across the month and I employ two lovely ladies who help me.

From day one the support and training from Pink Spaghetti HQ have been brilliant, I always come away from one-to-ones feeling really good about my achievements, even when I’m having a wobble.

To anyone who is thinking of joining, I wouldn’t hesitate - running your own business can be a rollercoaster but you’re not on your own."
