Email newsletters are a powerful, and free, way of marketing your business. How can you use them now, during lockdown, to really benefit your business when lockdown is over?
Branding.
If you get a template set up now, fully-branded on a system such as Mailchimp, you will be able to use it for your business at any time in the future. Sign up to Mailchimp, choose Brand, then Template and choose your brand colours and put in your social media and contact us links.

Onboarding series.
What should people know about your business? Tell them! Create a series of messages that should go out to people who are signed up to receive your newsletter. The series could include information about you, why you started your business, what you offer that is special, what the customer will gain by using your business, and of course a call to action on each one. Mailchimp includes 1 automated email free of charge, with anything more than that under £20 a month, so still excellent value for any small business.
Get people to sign up!
Create a landing page. This is a very easy way for people to sign up to your newsletter. Mailchimp assigns a URL that you can share on all your social media platforms, to encourage sign-ups.
Plan an “end of lockdown” newsletter. You may not know the date, but you will probably know the content, so get your newsletter ready now. Communicate that you are open, how you will work, what your hours will be, and include a call to action for your audience.
Use this time to ensure that you are ready for the flurry of activity that will happen when the lockdown restrictions are eased. Get ahead of your competitors with your communication and use the opportunity to show off your brand.
Mailchimp has lots of easy help pages to follow and the system is designed for small business owners. If you would like help we have a lockdown price of one template, 1 automated email, a landing page and your first newsletter for £125.
