My name is Penny Millar and I own and run Pink Spaghetti Kendal & the South Lake District, a small team of virtual assistants. We specialist in helping small and medium sized businesses with their admin tasks and social media management, allowing them to concentrate on their business and less on the paperwork and admin jobs that come with running it!
I live in Kendal, not only one of the most beautiful parts of the country, but also one with an abundance of fantastic small businesses. We’re surrounded by amazing, creative and passionate folk. Being able to support them and allow them to do what they do best is a privilege.
I started my business in January 2019, prior to that I was a Support Manager for the Service Division of an international manufacturing company, a fast paced and demanding role that taught me a huge amount about corporate management. I loved it! For the past twenty years I’ve been fortunate enough to hold various managerial positions, each very different, each bringing their own challenges, but all invaluable in terms of experience gained.
Being a virtual assistant has allowed me to bring all this experience to my own business. Approachable and diligent, I’m proud to able to give my client back the time to focus on their business. I’m super organised, a whizz with admin and pride myself on getting the job done.
My team really adds to my expertise. In the team are specialist administrators, content writers, and people who are used to using a wide range of systems used by small business owners.

Ellie provides crucial admin support to our clients. In 2019, she graduated university with First Class Honours in Multimedia Journalism, which she puts to good use in her role as administrative assistant and is a highly valued member of the team. Her calm, no fuss approach to work means tasks are completed efficiently and on time. Ellie is also a photographer, with a passion for landscape, product, and portrait photography. I’ve recently helped a group of village members with some market research work. They wanted to gain feedback from the local community around an update to the village plan. Using their questionnaire, we produced a SurveyMonkey survey, arranged the production and delivery of several hundred hard copies and collated the data once the survey was closed. We produced a report containing key data and a large spreadsheet detailing the responses to all questions. We adapted this so it could be filtered and multiple responses reviewed together.
