When a business needs an extra pair of hands, or a 25th hour in the day, many turn to the team at Pink Spaghetti. As virtual assistants, we’re passionate about going that extra mile for our clients and our vast experience and expertise means we can take on practically any task for you!

One such area is business administration. Admin for many is the tedious and time-consuming part of a business, a necessary evil and something that often gets put to the bottom of the pile. But not at Pink Spaghetti! As ‘organisation junkies’ - we LOVE all things admin.

To illustrate this and explain in more detail, we’d like to introduce you to Angie O’Neill. Angie is the owner of Pink Spaghetti Bexley, Dartford & Gravesend. She’s an admin superstar and below explains how she has helped her clients and taken the weight off their shoulders.
Tell us about your clients and your admin responsibilities.

I do a lot of admin for my clients and luckily, it’s something I really enjoy. Most recently, I have been working for Sarah Hawes – business owner at Izzy PR. We now do everything for her - from invoicing; quotes; chasing invoices; setting up new clients on her system and sending out T&Cs and diary management. To make the process run even more smoothly, we have our own email address for her company so that we can speak to her clients directly on behalf of the business and she copies us in to all emails as we not only do her admin work, we now do the basic admin for her client work too such as uploading blogs and purchases etc.

What do you love about offering this service?
I like to become a part of their business, for example, Sarah uses me as if I was an employee – as her traditional PA if you like. I truly enjoy making a difference and watching my clients’s’ businesses grow as they start to see the benefits of having a VA and see that e more theymore can actually get done. The best feedback I get is when the clients tell me that without me this or that would never get done and having me doing their admin has made their life so much easier!

What are the main benefits to a client's business?
Time saving is the main one, there is also a massive cost saving as it frees up their time to actually earn money for their business. When we look at their admin and how they are doing things and can see where improvements can be made, this is also a time and cost benefit to them as we do not need to as much time to carry out the tasks.

I started working with Sarah Hawes from Izzy PR three years ago, just sending out her monthly newsletter. We have now built it up so that we now do everything for her - even personal admin tasks and we now work a minimum of 10 hours a month for her.

A Client Perspective. Sarah Hawes - Izzy PR (izzypr.co.uk)
“Angie has been my PA for a few years now and she has been instrumental to my business growth.
As a small business owner who thought I had to wear all the hats, meeting Angie came at the right time, as she very gently educated me on what to outsource to her and why.
We started with the monthly newsletter, then very quickly added on other jobs including collating proposals, invoicing, debt chasing, diary management and purchasing.

In fact, any task, I can send to Angie - big or small, and I now don’t have that guilt I used to of sending her bits and pieces that take up my time but don’t have to worry about once Angie has them to do!
I have also been able to ask her to take on client admin tasks that needed completion too.

Once, at a networking event we attended, she even glanced over to see me out of coffee and arrived with a fresh one - what a lovely gesture, unexpected, but a keen eye to detail!
Angie has streamlined many processes to make both her work for me easier and also to create efficiencies and a higher level of professionalism within the business, such as e-signature software and terms and conditions documents.

This is the sort of thing I didn’t know I needed but value it now I have it!

I have often referred to my PA as the backbone of my business and also tell people that they really do need an Angie!

I cannot stress more, the importance of having a PA, because for me, it allows me to get on with the client work whilst the admin is taken care of quickly and efficiently.

It's this admin that keeps the business going - booking new client appointments, setting up accounts, sending T&Cs, ensuring invoices are paid and keeping an eye on cashflow.

They are all vital jobs for my business to grow and thrive, but it’s not vital that I do them, and that’s why I have my Angie!”
