Owner of our Reading Franchise, Debbie Whiteley, has been chosen as a finalist in the Business Mother of the Year Category at The Thames Valley Venus Awards. Dubbed by Channel 4 as “The Working Mother’s Oscars” these awards celebrate the vital contribution that women in business make to the local, regional, and national economy.

More than 100 guests attended the semi finals at Newbury Race course on 17th April. The award is voted for, and Debbie is delighted to have found our she is now one of three finalists. She said “having been nominated in March for the Thames Valley Santander Venus Awards as Business Mother of the Year, I was thrilled to have been shortlisted to the semi-finals. To my total surprise I was then announced as one of the finalists, that was amazing. I feel my business has quickly been recognised for the quality service it offers, the awards have opened so many doors for me to meet new people.

It was really inspiring to brush shoulders with so many talented women at the Award venue, Newbury Race course. The suite was packed with women competing in different categories from Influential & Inspirational Woman of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year to name a few. Can’t wait to hear the result in the final, watch this space!”

There were 11 Semi-Finalists who were decided by The Reading Chronicle, the public vote will decide who will win at the final on 8 June at the Madejski Stadium, home of Reading football club.

Good luck Debbie!
