Franchisee Case Study

Ever wondered what it's like to be a Virtual Assistant Franchisee?

Pippa joined us five years ago and has just renewed her contract with Pink Spaghetti which we are absolutely delighted about.

We asked Pippa how she has found the experience of joining a virtual assistant franchise and becoming a business owner.

Making the leap
I was working in a very stressful job and had been thinking about starting my own business for a while. I knew I wanted to work from home if possible and be my own boss. I started researching on Google and LinkedIn and Pink Spaghetti stood out for me. They seemed friendly, approachable and more personal than some of the other VA offerings.

The benefits
I love that I can work from home and design each day how I want it. Having clients from so many different industries means that no two days are the same, so it’s always interesting. It allows me flexibility to do things like workout when I want, start and finish my day when it’s convenient for me, and only take on the jobs that I want to do.

Moving on up
I have a lovely group of regular clients and also have some ad hoc clients. I am lucky enough to get business from referrals from existing clients and also enjoy networking to meet new, local businesses. I was worried that the pandemic would adversely affect my business, but with the support of the franchise, the other franchisees and the fact that I was already set up to work from home, I managed to make it through and come out the other side with an even stronger business.

The future
My goals are to carry on growing my business in my territory and to continue to add value to local businesses.

Training and support
The training and support from HQ was invaluable – I think if I’d tried to start my own business alone and without any support, I wouldn’t have made it through my first year in business. There’s so much to think about when you’re running your own business and the support team have your back every step of the way.

Go for it!
If you're considering a virtual assistant franchise, I would say ‘go for it’! It’s always nerve-wracking when you’re thinking of a big change, and starting your own business is a big one – but with the Pink Spaghetti Support Team and other franchisees behind you, the process is a lot less daunting than it would be if you were going it alone.

Pippa runs Pink Spaghetti, Norwich and we are thrilled to have her as part of our network. We are looking forward to supporting Pippa in the next chapter of her business journey.
